Ever since packing his family in their mini-van in 2012 and road-tripping across the U.S. ala National Lampoon's Vacation (thankfully without all of the catastrophes), Michael Strawderman has had an unquenchable thirst for the open road and experiencing all that our great country has to offer.  While traveling by air to get to your destination may be more efficient, Michael believes that we miss out on so many rich opportunities to experience the amazing landmarks, attractions, and people along the way by simply flying over them in a plane (not to mention the hassle and headaches that can be avoided by not having to deal with a greedy airline industry - i.e., United Airlines).

The name Travelhound pays tribute to Michael's love for dogs, especially beagles.  His current canine companion, Huckleberry,  joins him on trips whenever they are dog-friendly.  Just like Huckleberry, Michael is always up for adventures, sniffing out new places to explore, and meeting the patchwork of people that reside in our nation .

Unlike most websites, there's nothing to buy on Travelhound.  It's simply a website chocked full of fun and informative videos that Michael has produced about his personal travel adventures over the years. While his post-retirement dream job would be to get paid for travelling around the U.S. and producing videos for unique destinations, he would also be happy if he was able to get enough "likes" and subscribers on his featured videos on Youtube that he could monetize his passion (hint, hint).
